Members of two OMCGs charged with consorting - Strike Force Raptor

<p>Two senior members of two outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMCG) have been charged with consorting with convicted offenders by officers from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Just after 11am yesterday (Monday 30 March 2015), officers arrested a senior member of the Rebels OMCG’s Penrith chapter at his home in Ropes Crossing.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police will allege the 29-year-old man had been in the company of a number of convicted offenders, also members of the Rebels, despite receiving warnings from police.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was charged with habitually consort with convicted offenders and granted conditional bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday 14 May 2015.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 1.30pm yesterday, Strike Force Raptor officers arrested a senior national member of the Nomads at Parramatta Police Station.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police will allege the 31-year-old man had been in the company of a number of convicted offenders, also members of the Nomads, despite receiving warnings from police.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was also charged with habitually consort with convicted offenders and granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday 13 April 2015.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Twenty-two members and associates of the Nomads OMCG have now been arrested and charged with consorting since January this year.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009. Man charged after firearms, crossbow, arrows seized - Windsor

<p>A man will face court today (Tuesday 31 March 2015) on weapons offences after a motorist became concerned they were being pulled over by a fake police officer.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 8.30pm yesterday (Monday 30 March 2015), police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command were contacted by a motorist travelling on Windsor Road at McGraths Hill.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The motorist told police he believed someone impersonating a police officer was trying to pull over his vehicle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police intercepted a Ford Territory, that it will be alleged had a red and blue strobe light mounted on the dashboard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A search of the car located a number of items including strobe lights, a tomahawk, restraints, crossbow and arrows with barbed tips.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The 61-year-old male driver was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was charged with custody of a knife in a public place (x2), possess unregistered firearm (x2), not keep firearm safe, possess or use prohibited weapon without a permit (x4).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Richmond resident was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Inquiries into motorists being stopped by people impersonating a police officer in the Macarthur and Hawkesbury regions earlier this year are still continuing.</p>

Man charged with murder following domestic stabbing - Bexley

<p>A man has been charged following the death of a woman in Bexley yesterday.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 6.45pm (Monday 31 March 2015), police and ambulance paramedics were called to a unit on Valda St, Bexley, following reports a woman had been stabbed.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Officers attended the location where they found a 45-year-old woman suffering fatal stab wounds. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>An 18-year-old woman, who was also at the unit, was taken to St George Hospital suffering serious injuries to her hands.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 7pm (Monday 30 March 2015) a 58-year-old man presented at Kogarah Police Station where he spoke with detectives.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was later charged with murder and wound with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was refused bail and will appear in Kogarah Local Court today (Tuesday 31 March 2015).</p>

Twelve year old boy dies after being struck by car - Port Stephens

<p> </p>
<p>A 12-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in the Port Stephens area yesterday.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 4pm (Monday 30 March 2015) the boy was travelling on a school bus when it stopped outside an address on Marsh Road, Bobs Farm.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The boy got off the bus and as he crossed the road he was struck by a Triton Ute, being driven by a 19-year-old man.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He sustained critical injuries and died on the way to hospital.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The driver of the vehicle was taken to Calgary Mater Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Inquiries are continuing. </p>

Man charged over possession of stolen goods - Croydon Park

<p>A man has been charged overnight after he was allegedly found in possession of stolen credit cards and other identification cards in Croydon Park yesterday.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 5.30pm (Monday 30 March 2015), officers from Central Metropolitan Operation Talon were patrolling Liverpool Road when they observed a man standing at a group of letterboxes outside a unit complex.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The officers will allege they saw the man going through the letterboxes before getting into his car and driving away.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Officers followed the vehicle for a short time before pulling it over and conducting a search.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police will allege the 35-year-old man was a suspended driver, and found in possession of 35 different credit cards, two identification cards, two Medicare cards and three gift cards, all confirmed as stolen.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The man was taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with goods suspected of being stolen (x2), drive while suspended, state false name/address, and stealing.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was refused bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 31 March 2015).</p>

Woman dies following stabbing - Bexley

<p>Around 6.45pm today (Monday 31 March 2015), police and ambulance paramedics were called to a property on Valda St, Bexley, following reports a woman had been stabbed.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Officers attended the location, where they found a woman, believed to be aged in her 40s or 50s, who had sustained a number of injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A younger woman, believed to be aged in her late teens, has been transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police remain at the scene and are speaking to a number of the women’s family members.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A man has presented at Kogarah Police Station and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>An investigation into the woman’s death is now underway. Anyone with information that may assist police inquiries is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.</p>

Police investigating attempted murder release man's description - Mount Druitt

<p>Police investigating an attempted murder in Sydney’s west have released a description of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 11.30pm on Tuesday 17 March 2015, a man attended Mount Druitt Hospital with an injury to his neck, believed to have been caused by a gunshot.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A car, driven by a woman, had dropped the man and a male relative off at the hospital but she left without providing any information to hospital staff. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The 26-year-old man was subsequently transferred to another hospital in a serious condition. He underwent surgery and has since been released from hospital.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The injured man and his family have not provided police with information about the matter.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In the days following the incident, police identified a crime scene in the vicinity of George Street, Mount Druitt. This was examined by specialist forensic investigators.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command formed Strike Force Brice to investigate the incident, which is being treated as an attempted murder.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Following these inquiries, strike force detectives have today released a description of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, approximately 30 years of age, 170 to 175cm tall, with a solid build, a beard and short black hair.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police have also located the vehicle believed to have been used to transport the 26-year-old man to hospital; this has been seized for forensic examination.</p>

Police investigating serious car crash - Gerroa

<p>Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious car crash on the state’s south coast.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Shortly after 8am today (Monday 30 March 2015), police were called to Gerroa Road, Gerroa, after a red Renault hatchback crashed into the back of a parked black Mercedes 4WD.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Renault rolled over onto its roof, and both the driver – a 30-year-old woman from the southern Sydney suburb of Miranda – and the passenger – a 38-year-old man from Oak Flats – suffered serious injuries. Both were airlifted to St George Hospital, where the driver is being treated for a fractured hip; the passenger is in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A 52-year-old Culburra Beach woman, who was seated in the driver’s seat of the stationary Mercedes at the time of the crash, was not injured.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are now investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash and encourage anyone with information that may assist to contact Crime Stoppers.</p>

Police investigate after shots fired - Mangrove Mountain

<p>Police continue to investigate following reports of shots fired in Mangrove Mountain earlier today.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>About 9.30am (Monday 30 March 2015), police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command responded to reports of shots fired at a car on Waratah Road, Mangrove Mountain.<br><br>No one was injured as a result of the incident.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As part of the investigation specialist officers attended Waratah Road and entered a home on the street about 4.15pm.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>No one was found in the home.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A cartridge and firearm have been secured at the location and a search warrant is currently being executed at the property.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.</p>

Bicycle rider dies after fall near Goulburn

<p>A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a bicycle rider fell over a guard rail and died near Goulburn yesterday. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The 61-year-old Engadine man was with a group of students in an annual bike ride from Canberra to Wollongong when the crash happened. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>At 8am yesterday (Saturday 2 May 2015) the group set out from Dickson, Australian Capital Territory. They stopped at Gunning for lunch and began riding again at1pm along the Hume Highway toward Goulburn. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>At 2.35pm they were near Cullerin Road, Breadalbane, riding up a slight incline, when the man fell over a guard rail. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>A registered nurse, from the support vehicle following the group, assisted the man and began CPR until an ambulance arrived.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital where he died.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A report is being prepared for the Coroner.</p>
