<p>Our governing body is chaired by Dr Nicola Burbidge and Paul Shenton is our vice-chair.<br /><br />Every GP practice has a vote and is responsible for electing its representatives onto the governing body. <br /><br />Our governing body has nine local GPs representing our member practices, alongside patient representatives and colleagues from public health and our local authorities. They make decisions on behalf of the Council of Members (the group name for our member practices).<br /><br />The CCG governing body is responsible for making the final decisions within the CCG and is accountable to NHS England and to our member practices, as well as to the public.</p>
<p><a href="/about-us/governing-body-meetings.aspx" title="Governing body meetings">Our governing body meetings</a> are held in public and the meeting papers are published on this site.<br /><br />All governing body members and senior managers are required to declare any relevant and material interests, which are detailed in the <a href="/media/87884/Declaration-of-Interests-Register_Hounslow-CCG-Governing-Body-2016-17.pdf">register of interests</a>. The <a href="/media/78090/hccg-constitution-final-approved-by-nhse-05-05-15.pdf">CCG's constitution</a> sets out the rules governing declarations of interest and the management of conflicts of interest.</p>

She has taken an active lead in the redesign of local and north west London patient pathways and services including the referral facilitation service, the urgent care centre, community services for dermatology, ophthalmology and pulmonary rehabilitation (COPD). At a London level, Dr Burbidge is the GP representative on the London Acute medical and surgical paediatrics standards committee</span>.</span></p></p>

<p><p>Dr Shenton has been a full time Hounslow GP for over 30 years and the vice- chair of Hounslow CCG (and its predecessor, Hounslow PCT) for the past three. He has been involved in commissioning services for several years, including the urgent care centre and the referral facilitation service. Dr Shenton represents the board on the Hounslow CCG finance subcommittee and joint commissioning board and is the clinical lead for musculoskeletal conditions and urgent care.</p></p>

<p><p><span>Dr Garcha has been a GP in central Hounslow for over 20 years. </span><span>Over</span><span> the last </span><span>five</span><span> years he has taken a lead on commissioning new community dermatology, alcohol and substance misuse and COPD services including pulmonary rehab and home oxygen review. He works with Dr Annabel Crowe as a GP mental health lead for the CCG. Dr Garcha is the clinical lead for quality, engagement and equalities.</span></p></p>

He is working with a colleague as the GP lead for Ashford and St Peters and has recently taken on a lead role for Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.</p></p>

<p><p>Sue has worked in Hounslow since 2002, initially as Director of Nursing and latterly as Borough Director for the PCT. She became the Managing Director of the CCG in April 13, overseeing the transition from PCT to CCG. Sue is a health visitor by training having worked as a health visitor in Hackney and as a health visitor and a clinical practice teacher in Isleworth. She has also worked in health promotion. She was a manager for community health services in the Tri-Borough before coming into commissioning. She has a degree in Organisational Consultancy from the Tavistock. Her particular interest is in whole systems thinking and integrated care.</p></p>

<p><p>Javed began his career in education as a mathematics teacher and an assistant principal in the further education sector. He is currently chief executive of Barnardo’s, the leading children’s charity. Prior to this he was chief executive of Victim Support, and he also worked for the Government office for London as the executive director to the London Serious Youth Board. He has a wealth of experience of working with local government, politicians and community representatives at Birmingham City Council and the London Borough of Harrow.</p></p>

<p><p>Trevor spent the majority of his career in the Civil Service, principally in the Ministry of Defence, where he served in a number of senior positions, including as director general finance. He retired in 2012, since when he has been a non-executive director and chair of audit for the Oil and Pipelines Agency. As well as serving on the governing body at Hounslow CCG, he chairs the collaborative performance committee.</p></p>

<p><p>Clive Chalk is a former police officer. Before taking retirement he spent 30 years with the Metropolitan Police Service. He undertook a variety of roles serving several boroughs including Brent, Hounslow and Richmond. He retired as the Borough Commander for Richmond upon Thames in 2013.</p>
<p>Between 2006 and 2009 he was the Superintendent responsible for community engagement and neighbourhood policing for Hounslow borough. He is experienced in engaging with a cohesive partnership of statutory, community, faith and voluntary sector organisations both in Hounslow and other boroughs.</p>
<p>He is currently the lay chair within the General Dental Council’s (GDC) Investigating Committee. The primary purpose of the committee is to ensure patient and public safety and uphold the high standards of the profession. He has also been selected as a Lay Person for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office.</p></p>

<h1 class="subHeading">Our governing body</h1>
<p>Our governing body is chaired by Dr Neville Purssell, and Dr Mona Vaidya is our vice-chair. The governing body also has a further six local GPs representing our member practices, alongside patient representatives and colleagues from public health and our local authority. They make decisions on behalf of the council of members (the group name for our member practices).</p>
<p>The CCG governing body is responsible for making the final decisions within the CCG and is accountable to NHS England and to our member practices, as well as to the public. Every GP practice has a vote to elect its representatives onto the governing body.</p>
<p>Our <a href="/about-us/governing-body-meetings.aspx" title="Governing body meetings"><strong>governing body meetings</strong></a> are held in public and the meeting papers are published on this site.</p>
<p>All governing body members and senior managers are required to declare any relevant and material interests, which are detailed in the <a href="/media/48778/Register-of-Declaration-of-Interests-July-2016-v2.pdf"><strong>register of interests</strong></a>. The <a href="/news-publications/publications.aspx?n=2743"><strong>CCG's constitution</strong></a> sets out the rules governing declarations of interest and the management of conflicts of interest.</p>

<p><p><span>A GP at King's College Health Centre, Mona completed her medical training in India, as well as doing clinical internships at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago and Salmaniya Medical Center, Bahrain. Experience of healthcare from a multicultural and international perspective enabled her to pursue interests in health economics, service redesign and innovation. She pioneered the CCG's Wellwatch programme which embodies integrated healthcare. Special interests include family planning, women's health, minor surgery and aesthetic medicine.</span></p></p>

<p><p>Dr Afsana Safa has been a salaried GP at the Marylebone Health Centre since 2011. She trained locally having graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine and worked in North West London Trusts as a junior doctor. After completion of her GP training she undertook a year as a Darzi Fellow - gaining experience and a qualification in healthcare management and leadership from the Kings Fund and Manchester Business School. She is also a GP lead with Transforming Cancer Services for London (TCST) working on local and London wide projects, and is a Macmillan GP for Central London CCG too.</p></p>

In business she manages commercial development for a small biotech firm.</p></p>

Clare was director of finance of NHS Barnet for four years until April 2011, when she moved into the role of associate director of finance at the North Central London PCT cluster. In September 2012 Clare moved to North West London as chief financial officer (designate) for CWHH CCGs and director of finance for the four predecessor CCGs. Clare has successfully led change in financially challenged environments and brings both acute and commissioning experience to her current role of chief financial officer for the Central London, West London, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow and Ealing CCGs.</span></p></p>

In Jules early career she worked clinically within the NHS.</span></p>
<p><span>In her tenure, Jules has transformed organisations that have been struggling with complex agendas in difficult health sectors to achieve system wide change.</span></p>
<p><span>Jules feels success is not only in improving systems and processes but fundamentally in enabling people. True improvement is generated from the bottom up and driven by the desire to put the patient and their needs at the centre; and is passionate about transforming care to improve quality.</span></p>

He has been in his current post since 2012 which focusses upon quality improvement and clinical assurance and encompasses: clinical quality and patient safety, safeguarding (children and adults), emergency planning and Caldicott Guardian responsibilities</span></p></p>

She is also the Chair of the <a href="http://homelesshealthnetwork.net/"> London Network of Nurses and Midwives Homelessness Group</a> and Vice Chair of <a href="http://www.bridgethegap.org.uk/">Bridge the Gap London</a> (Charity No 1160595). She has worked in a variety of acute and primary care settings in both high and low income contexts as well as expedition and civil disturbance medicine. She studied tropical nursing at the <a href="http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/">London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine</a> where she also gained her Masters in Public Health with a sub-specialty in Health Services Management. She currently returns to <a href="http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/" target="_blank">LSHTM</a> as a guest lecturer on the<a href="http://http/www.lshtm.ac.uk/study/cpd/stn.html" target="_blank"> Diploma of Tropical Nursing </a>course.</p></p>

<p>Our governing body is chaired by Dr Tim Spicer.<br /> <br /> Every GP practice has a vote and is responsible for electing its representatives onto the governing body. <br /> <br /> Our governing body has 10 local GPs representing our member practices, alongside patient representatives and colleagues from public health and our local authorities. They make decisions on behalf of the Council of Members (the group name for our member practices).<br /> <br /> The CCG governing body is responsible for making the final decisions within the CCG and is accountable to NHS England and to our member practices, as well as to the public.</p>
<p><a href="/about-us/governing-body-meetings.aspx" title="Governing body meetings">Our governing body meetings</a> are held in public and the meeting papers are published on this site.<br /> <br /> All governing body members and senior managers are required to declare any relevant and material interests, which are detailed in the <a href="/media/83806/03-0-NHS-HFCCG-Declarations-of-Interest-March-2016-no-signature-column-v1.pdf">register of interests</a>. The <a href="/media/43454/HFCCG-Constitution-v2-3-Oct-2013.pdf">CCG's constitution </a>sets out the rules governing declarations of interest and the management of conflicts of interest.</p>

Tim is also a Medical Director for the Shaping a Healthier Future programme.</span></p>

He previously was involved in the Practice-Based Commissioning process. Paul currently works full time at the Brook Green Surgery whilst also carrying out his CCG responsibilities. </p></p>

<p><p>Tony is a GP at Richford Gate Medical Practice, Shepherd's Bush with a significant interest and experience in diabetes care as well as other long term conditions. He has a well-developed interest in IT, user interfaces and in data visualisation, particularly where these apply to improving care of long-term conditions in healthcare. </p>
<p><br />He joined the CCG Board at Hammersmith and Fulham CCG in January 2013, and has become the Lead Clinician for IT, Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease. He is keen to see the CCG's strategy develop over the next few years resulting in improvements in care for long term conditions. He sits on the Information Management and Technology and Finance and Performance Committees.<br /><br />He is working closely with the other IT Lead Clinicians in North West London to develop and improve collaborative strategy across multiple CCGs with the aim of linking electronic healthcare records and improving patient care and experience.</p></p>

<p><p>Born in Hammersmith June 8th 1971, Dr James Cavanagh was educated at Kings College, Wimbledon and then at St Mary's Medical School Paddington - Qualifying in 1994. </p>
<p>He initially worked in emergency medicine and trauma at Guy's Hospital and abroad in India and South Africa before he trained as GP at the Riverside Scheme 1999-2002. <br />Dr Cavanagh’s career has included being the medical director at Soho Centre for Health walk-in centre 2002 – 2008 as well as associate GP at the Chelsea Practice over the same period <br />James has a partner at Brook Green medical Centre June 2008 onwards</p></p>

<p><p>Vanessa is a Practice Nurse at the Bush Doctors in Shepherds Bush. Vanessa leads on organisational development for the CCG, from procurement to delivery. She regularly attends the quarterly Public Health meetings and acts as a liaison point between Public Health and the CCG. She also sits on the Governance and Quality and Patient Safety and Risk Committees. Vanessa previously sat on the Local Medical Committee as a nurse observer until her election to the CCG.</p></p>

He was previously director of finance at Breast Cancer Care and has worked for ActionAid and VSO in China. He is a non-executive director at East Thames Housing Group and chairs the large charities' group of finance directors at Charity Finance Group. </span></p>

<p><span>Trish has held senior positions in the public and voluntary sectors board positions at District Audit and the Audit Commission. She has served as Deputy Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman investigating complaints about government and the NHS. Trish is Independent Complaint Monitor for the Criminal Records Bureau and a member of the Appointments Committee of the General Dental Council. Trish has undertaken value for money studies of the NHS and runs a complaint handling company. Trish joined Hammersmith and Fulham PCT Board in 2009 before becoming vice chair of the NHS North West London inner sub-cluster board in 2011.</span></p>

<p><p>Jane is deaf with 30 years’ experience of public and voluntary sector appointments. She worked as a solicitor and a librarian before retiring to bring up a family and has held senior positions at both national and local level. Her most recent involvement in health has been as a Local Involvement Networks (LINKs) representative on the NHS North West London Patient and Public Advisory Group and Travel Advisory Group as well as Central London Community Health Quality Stakeholder Reference Group.</p>
<p>Jane is a board member of Hafad, a not for profit organisation run by disabled people for disabled people and their carers. She is also an active member of the Hammersmith and Fulham HealthWatch Local Committee. She lives in Hammersmith and Fulham.</p></p>

Since then she has worked in and around the Hammersmith and Fulham area both in hospitals, building relationships with local clinicians and in General Practice having qualified from the Riverside scheme as a GP in 2014. She currently works as a salaried GP at the Lillie Road Surgery in Fulham and with the Planned Care team at Hammersmith and Fulham CCG. As part of her role with the Governing Body she will be sitting on the Quality Patient Safety and Risk Committee. </p></p>

Clare has successfully led change in financially challenged environments and brings both acute and commissioning experience to the role.</span></p></p>

Starting his first commissioning role in 2009, Jonathan moved to the North West London Cluster of PCTs in 2011 as deputy director for quality and clinical assurance before acting into the North West London Cluster of PCT's director of nursing and quality role in 2012. He has been in his current post since 2012 which focusses upon quality improvement and clinical assurance and encompasses: clinical quality and patient safety, safeguarding (children and adults), emergency planning and Caldicott Guardian responsibilities.</p></p>

As a clinical director for A&E, Medical Staff Chair, and most recently Director of Strategy and Business Improvement, he has worked regionally in north east London in service redesign, and brings considerable experience of working with many hospital specialties, and in particular in emergency access and community specialty services.</p></p>

<p><p>Stuart is a consultant in public health and deputy director with the tri-borough councils (London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham, Royal Borough Kensington Chelsea and Westminster City Council). Stuart heads up the public health intelligence (PHI) team that provides data and analysis on local epidemiology, including needs assessments and JSNAs (joint skills needs assessment), to commissioners of services for our local population. Stuart also leads on the ‘social determinants of health’, developing and implementing evidence-based interventions to help address local health inequalities. Stuart originally worked in environmental health before becoming part of the first national cohort of non-medical public health registrars.</p></p>

Ben is an associate of member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and, as a qualified coach, is on the NHS's coaching register supporting the development of the NHS workforce in London. </p></p>

Dr Burbidge is the Chair of Hounslow CCG and has been a GP in Chiswick for over 20 years. She has taken an active lead in the redesign of local and north west London patient pathways and services including the referral facilitation service, the urgent care centre, community services for dermatology, ophthalmology and pulmonary rehabilitation (COPD). At a London level, Dr Burbidge is the GP representative on the London Acute medical and surgical paediatrics standards committee.
