Welcome to fixyourstreet.ie!
“fixyourstreet.ie” is a new service being piloted in the South Dublin County area from August 2nd 2011. It will consist of a publically accessible web site with associated mobile technologies on which non emergency issues such as graffiti, road defects, issues with street lighting, water leaks/drainage issues, and litter or illegal dumping can be reported to the local authority. As promised in the programme for government, issues raised on “fixyourstreet.ie” will be responded to within 2 working days. The response will be given by an official of the Council. The pilot of this project will run for a period of three months from August 2nd 2011 in South Dublin County Council. Over this period the technologies deployed and the processes within the Council will be tested in a live working environment. What area is covered during the pilot? As the service is being run through South Dublin County Council, the area which can be responded to for the duration of the pilot is South Dublin County. What is the ‘beta’ tag on the site? Because fixyourstreet is being piloted it is being placed at a ‘beta’ status which normally signifies a service which is developing though a working environment. Because of this, the functionality offered may change or develop further to meet the aspirations of the service delivery. Open Data fixyourstreet.ie is built on open source technology and facilitates openness and transparency by keeping each issue reported through fixyourstreet.ie and its progress in the public domain and available to anyone through the website. As the service is open - dealing only with non personal information, third parties will be free to analyse and interact with the service and information reported on the system. For those technically minded, an API (application programming interface) is available to interact with the service in a structured manner.

Kingswood Shops
There is grafitti of an explicit nature sprawled across the back of the Centra/Chipper shops at the top of the lane way leading from Ashfield Avenue to the back of the shops in Kingswood Heights. This never realy bothered me before but now as it is the only route I can take my 4 year old to preschool and she is asking me what is says, it is only a matter of time before she feels it this normal and acceptable. Also the road around the back of the shops is in such a bad state we try to avoid it at all costs, it is all broken up and so disgustingly dirty. I have spoken to the shop owners and they say it is a council matter.

Old empty utilities box
Hi, there's an old utility box on Kilmore road. The back of it is open and it's empty. Obviously one of the utiliy groups left it behind. It's been there for years and is an eye sore. Could you please remove it. It's on the grass verge on kilmore road, off malahide road.

Damaged footpath and kerbing and graffiti on wall
The footpath on Inverness road is broken and raised in numerous places. It has been damaged by tree roots (a trip hazard), repaired after water works with tar in other places (unsightly and a trip hazard and likely to degrade very quickly) and the kerbing is falling away in several places. Apart from looking poor this is unsafe for both young children and elderly users. There is also graffiti on two separate Walls along the road.
