Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust (BCHC) has more than 5,000 staff working across Birmingham and the West Midlands in a wide range of community nursing and specialist healthcare roles. We deliver a wide range of services for children, young people, parents and families as well as adults and community services, two community hospitals, services for people with learning disabilities, the internationally recognised West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre and one of Europe’s leading Dental Hospitals and School of Dentistry.   The 2014 Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection found BCHC to be well led, effective, responsive, caring and safe, rating the Trust as ‘good’ overall. Employees were praised for their caring and compassionate nature.   On 01 April 2013, the Birmingham Primary Care Shared Services Agency (BPCSSA) Estates team was split between BCHC and NHS Property Services (NHS-PS).  As part of this restructure the physical estate and related services were allocated and transferred between the two organisations.   With an in-house Estates Department the Trust has established a better understanding of the rationalised estate portfolio.  The Trust intends to continue its strategy of centralisation of Estates services and intends to establish robust, safe, efficient and cost effective contracts in order to support the clinical services provided.   It is recognised that the Trust has a duty of care to keep potentially dangerous areas safe for patients, staff and visitors and this includes protecting them from ice and snow.   The contract period will cover a three (3) year period with the option to extend for two (2) periods of twelve (12) months. Totalling a maximum contract period of five (5) years

The Authority is undertaking joint market testing of Waste Management (Domestic and Clinical Waste) Services with its PFI Partner Amey Community Ltd (Amey) with the objective of obtaining a single supplier across the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust sites under two contracts (one contract with the Authority and one contract with the Authority’s PFI Partner). This waste management tender exercise is being managed and co-ordinated jointly between the Authority and its PFI Partner Amey Community Ltd (Amey).  The Authority and the Authority’s PFI Partner will be carrying out a parallel tender process. Suppliers wishing to provide Waste Management (Domestic and Clinical Waste) Services to the Authority and the PFI Partner will need to submit a separate tender document to each party (Authority and the PFI Partner). The Authority and its PFI Partner will share their respective tender returns (technical and quality and commercial submissions which includes the prices)”.The successful Waste Management Organisation(s) will need to enter into a contract with the Authority and a contract with Amey for respective sites based on geographical location within the Trust.  In addition the Trust reserves the right to sub contract the contract management of any contracts it awards. The Tamarind Centre, Summerhill Supplies Ltd.  The Facilities Services provided to the Tamarind Centre, 165 Yardley Green Road, Bordesley Green, Birmingham, B9 5PU are supplied by Summerhill Supplies Ltd a subsidiary of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Birmingham Community Health NHS Trust (BCHC) is seeking to appoint a supplier of the ICT Hardware at the new Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry, Millpool Way,  Edgbaston, Birmingham B5 7EG. The dental hospital caters for over 120,000 patient appointments per year; it also has 450 members of staff and 600 students split between Birmingham University and BCHC. These requirements detail the specification of hardware required within clinical areas within the new hospital, this includes PC’s, monitors, and peripherals. The Trust will also require the Imaging of the PC’s, storage and phased deliveries to the new hospital. Further options to these requirements include the installation and initial setup of the equipment is listed in the attached ICT Hardware Schedule.  The Trust is seeking to award one (1) supplier for the provision of these devices and will only accept bids from the suppliers awarded to Lot 1 of the CCS framework RM1054.

Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is a leading pro­vider of health care services in the West Midlands. In September 2015 Birmingham Dental Hospital (BDH) and University of Birmingham (UoB) School of Dentistry is to relocate to a new state of the art building, predicated as a digital environment with no physical healthcare record storage. A key component of this digital environment is the new Electronic Dental Record (EDR) System which has been implemented in the exiting Hospital and School. Along with implementing an EDR system, digitising all patient records is a core component of the BDH digital strategy.  This is in line with national drivers such as the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, challenging the National Health Service (NHS) is paperless by 2018.  Digitisation of patient records shall: *Improve the service user experience by allowing patient information to be accessed immediately from any location where staff and students may be working and from different device types. *   Reduce staffing costs associated with the creation, distribution and access of health records. *   Realise savings associated with the creation of physical health records. *  Realise savings associated with the cost of physical records storage. *   Provide the ability for future development to allow secure patient or third party access subject to policy and technical controls. *  Reduce the quantity of Information Governance (IG) incidents concerning availability or missing records. *  Improve governance controls concerning clinical audit.  It shall be important that the successful contractor can demonstrate that they have sufficient capacity and the specific experience in delivering the required service to fully meet all the requirements. This contract will be awarded for a period of seven (7) years, with no option to extend, in line with the maximum contract period allowed to be awarded under the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Framework RM1689 - Pan Government Document Storage and Related Services (also known as Records Management). This contract will be awarded through a mini-competition exercise under; Lot 3, of this Framework.

The Trust is looking to procure an ad-hoc courier service to provide support to its clinics.  Currently there is an in-house distribution service which operates a round robin sample collection service in the mornings, and an internal post service.  However outside of these services, the Trust has a requirement for the transportation of Samples and general packages on a same and next day delivery basis.   The Trust is seeking to procure a courier service across three lots of Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework RM1006 - Courier Services to provide a single awarded supplier for Trust requirements against each of the framework lots: ·         Lot 1 - Same Day delivery of general packages ·         Lot 2 - Next Day delivery of general packages ·         Lot 4 - Delivery of Dangerous/Hazardous Goods For absolute clarity, one supplier from each framework lot will be awarded, a maximum total of three (3) suppliers.  ·         Multiple lot bids will only be considered if the Bidder has been awarded to all lots there bid covers by CCS.  ·         Where a Multiple Lot bid is submitted, any discounts based on award of multiple lots must be clearly stated in the Bidders commercial response. ·         The service provision will be on an ad-hoc basis and no guaranteed volumes will apply.   The Successful Contractor will be required to provide a service which will (as a minimum):- ·         Ensure all packages are collected from the booked locations on time. ·         Ensure that all packages are tracked form collection to delivery. ·         That proof of delivery is available for all packages transported. ·         Ensure all packages are transported in line with the relevant legislation. ·         Support the Trust in an efficient, effective, responsive and flexible manner; ·         All drivers provided will hold a current and valid driving license. ·         With their vehicles having undergone and passed stringent tests for vehicle roadworthiness.
